Description
SAIC has a Part Time Casual opening for a Technical Writer to support configuration management, requirements management, and documentation support for the Tactical Receive Segment (TRS) Software Suite.
Note: The position requires onsite support at the Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific (NIWC PAC), Old Town Center, San Diego, CA. There will also be flexibility to work remotely some days/hours from the local area.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The candidate will be responsible for generating, revising, and maintaining configuration management of technical documents including user manuals, software requirements specifications (SRS), configuration management plan (CMP), and interface and design documents; as well as programmatic documents such as standard operating procedures (SOP), process and workflow documentation and forms.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
- HS/GED and 5 years of experience with engineering documentation to include User documents, program plans, interface, and design documents.
- Experience with Atlassian tools Jira and Confluence.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen.
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to interact effectively with all levels of technical and management personnel.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience performing workflows, reporting, and tracking projects within Atlassian Jira.
- Experience with using Atlassian Confluence for documentation and collaboration.
- Experience eliciting feedback and inputs from engineers, technical staff, and program management staff.
- Ability to obtain a courier card and maintain responsibilities for handling classified materials.
- High level of focus for details and organization
Target salary range: $75,001 - $100,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
