SAIC is looking for a Vulnerability Manager to join our team supporting an US Government Agency in the National Capital Region. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team responsible for delivering Vulnerability Management Services to the Agency by performing vulnerability scanning and reporting of the Agency’s IT infrastructure and business systems using Agency provided vulnerability scanning tools.

 

The Vulnerability Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for all IT Vulnerability Scanning (Web and Device) and Reporting activities. These activities include but are not limited to:

  • Implement, manage, and support the Vulnerability Management Process responsible for conducting vulnerability scanning and reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvements in the Agency’s vulnerability management processes and tools by leveraging industry-leading technologies, automation, and data-driven insights. 
  • Use organizational assessment, reporting, workflow, and communications solutions to fulfill daily responsibilities of the Vulnerability team.
  • Develop and deliver regular metrics, reports, KPIs and presentations to Agency leadership and key stakeholders, communicating the status and effectiveness of the vulnerability management program. 
  • Perform authenticated or agent-based vulnerability scanning of all devices on the Agency’s network and produce scanning results including point-in-time vulnerability reporting.
  • Assess vulnerabilities for scope, research steps required to address, and coordinate needed actions to address with appropriate team resources.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with System Owners, Business Owners, and Application Developers on vulnerability remediation efforts.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 

  • Undergraduate degree with ten years or Graduate degree with seven years vulnerability management experience in a technical environment with a variety of IT systems.  
  • One or more current Security certification (CISSP, CISM, Security+). 
  • Experience with scanning tools such as Tenable, Qualys, and Nessus.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

  • Fluency in both spoken and written English, including the ability to work with highly technical and specialized content. Must be able both prepare and deliver such content, verbally and in writing, but also comprehend such content from others, in both spoken and written form. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Outstanding customer service skills. 
  • Ability to document and follow processes as needed. 
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members to increase performance.
  • Ability to brief and report to Senior Leadership.
  • Proficiency in explaining complex policies and protocols in simple terms. 
  • Stay up to date on information technology trends and security standards. 
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to be able to assess potential risks and developing possible solutions. 

 

Candidates for consideration must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and support a Hybrid Work Schedule of a minimum of two days in the office.
