SAIC is seeking an Automation Engineering Team Lead with cloud-based experience to join our team in support of US Air Force Modeling and Simulation Support Services (AFMS3). This is a fully remote job opportunity.

Salary is $125-135k.

AFMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and training and analysis standards that support the US Air Force (USAF), Department of Defense (DoD), and mission partners requiring these capabilities to support the Warfighter in full-spectrum operations.

Job Description:

• Evaluate and develop automated technologies to improve the deployment, maintenance, and performance of cloud assets and applications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline workflows, optimize operations, and improve the user experience.
• Leverage cutting-edge technologies and industry best practices to tailor automation solutions addressing specific needs, including reducing manual code reviews, improving response times, and automating testing and deployment pipelines.
• Monitor performance and fine-tune processes to adapt to evolving requirements, incorporate industry automation trends and technologies and recommend innovations to improve levels of efficiency and productivity.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop automated workflows.
• Automation of testing and deployment pipelines.
• Effectiveness and efficiency of testing process.
• Lead Automation Team and collaborate with developers, DevSecOps Engineers and others.
• Identify Automation tasks within Learning Platform infrastructure.
• Leverage or build-cloud based architectures, technologies, and/or platforms to deliver optimized ML models at scale.
• Construct optimized data pipelines to feed ML models.
• Leverage continuous integration and continuous deployment best practices, including test automation and monitoring, to ensure successful deployment of ML models and application codes.
• Ensure all code is well-managed to reduce vulnerabilities, models are well-governed from a risk perspective.
• Use programming languages like Python, Scala, or Java and others.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• DoD 8570 certification in IAT Level II certification or above (Security+ CE, CASP+ CE, CISSP, etc.).
• Must be a US Citizen and (minimally) possess an Active Interim or Secret clearance.
• Proficiency in Scale, Java, or Python and basic ML libraries like PyTorch or Tensorflow and others.
• Ability to read documentation and ML literature and quickly understand and implement new models.
• Bachelor's and nine (9) years or Masters and seven (7) years experience; or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.

Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
