SAIC is seeking a Backend Full Stack Software Developer, in Herndon, VA (position will relocate to Chantilly in Aug-Oct 2023), to work closely with customer Program Managers and a small team of software developers to accelerate system and application development. The successful candidate works side-by-side with the other team members comprised of world class Machine Learning Engineers, System Architects, Software Developers, Cloud Engineers, Cyber Engineers, and Multimedia Specialists to lead the customer in developing new technical solutions.
Roles and responsibilities include:
- Work within the team to develop new and to enhance existing systems and applications
- Produce effective and elegant code based algorithms
- Test and deploy programs and applications
- Troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and improve existing software
- Compile and assess user feedback to improve software performance
- Proactively seek opportunities to use process improvement and re-engineering methodologies to facilitate improvements to team processes
Qualifications
Required

Must have current TS/SCI clearance with full-scope polygraph.

Bachelors degree and (9) years or more of related experience. Masters and (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and (4) years or more experience
- Full Stack Development experience
- Thorough understanding and minimum of 3 years of experience with Python and Django web applications
- Experience with modern authorization mechanisms, such as OIDC and JSON web tokens
- Experience incorporating machine learning models into web apps
- Experience with RESTful API architecture
- Experience with REACT web applications and unit testing, or other Javascript frameworks
- Minimum 2 year of AWS platform experience
Desired
- Good project management skills
- Experience troubleshooting applications
- Experience with container technologies: Docker, ECR, ECS, EKS
- Experience integrating mockups and prototyping wireframes
- Knowledge of Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
- Knowledge of Elasticsearch
