Description
SAIC has an opening for an IT/Desktop Requirements Manager. The successful applicant will participate within a team of Systems Engineers and Technical Advisors (SETAs) and oversee the activities of dedicated desktop service providers. Candidates will assist the government with managing organizational costs, schedules, and scope commitments to ensure successful mission outcomes. As a Desktop Requirements Manager, the successful candidate will support a globally deployed customer base by translating needs into requirements, and then allocating those requirements to dedicated service providers for implementation. The successful candidate will be called upon to leverage a broad range of skills and a breadth of knowledge in several IT disciplines including systems and enterprise architecture, software and hardware engineering, interface protocols, and general problem-solving skills to ensure customer needs are met through selected service delivery mechanisms. Candidates may be required to assess the integration of desktop solutions with other systems, research system architecture alternatives, perform cost analysis and estimation, and perform proposed solution analysis. Selected candidates may oversee the logical and systematic conversion of requirements into total system solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Customers may require candidates to perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, requirements definition, and interface definition studies to translate requirements into hardware and software specifications. Candidates must be able to effectively quantify specific, detailed information for their recommendations in written and verbal formats (e.g., slide presentations, Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs), etc.) Candidates may be called upon to assess Service Provider proposed implementation techniques, assess future mission demand requirements against planned capacity deliveries, assess facility requirements (including floor layout, power cooling, network connectivity), data storage, backup, monitoring, operations systems, directory services, identity management, access management, and automation.
At a minimum, the successful candidate must be able to:
· Demonstrate a working understanding of Microsoft and/or Unix Operating Systems
· Demonstrate a working understanding of physical, virtual, and cloud based technologies
· Demonstrate the ability to perform requirements analysis, schedule reviews, and cost estimations
· Demonstrate strong oral and written communications skills to facilitate clear and concise delivery statuses on multiple, concurrent activities
· Demonstrate a working understanding of the Requirements definition process
· Demonstrate the ability to prepare program plans, to include budget and schedule development
· Demonstrate the ability to conduct risk assessments of proposed service provider deliveries
Qualifications
Bachelors in a STEM field of study and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience. *Applicable work experiences may be substituted for a degree
· Project Management (PMP or similar) certification is a plus, but not required
· ITIL certification is a plus, but not required
· Must possess and maintain Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance
· Must be able to acquire and maintain a Poly
