Description

SAIC is looking for a Senior Enterprise Management Systems Specialist to provide day-to-day management and supervision of overall Enterprise Management Systems (EMS) personnel, involving multiple projects and groups of personnel at multiple locations.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Organizes, directs, and coordinates the planning and production of all EMS support activities and allocates resources as necessary.
  • Provides comprehensive engineering, operations and maintenance support for the CA tool suite and other enterprise monitoring products.
  • Performs design architectural changes and implementation, following established configuration management processes and schedules.
  • Provides highly specialized technical advice concerning configuration and implementation of metric gathering methodology for monitoring IT facility equipment, applications and services.
  • Analyzes the metric, technical configurations and provides recommendations on the best alternatives.
  • Provides technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations.
  • Designs, builds, and implements network systems.
  • Utilizes software and hardware tools and identifies and diagnoses complex problems and factors affecting network, systems, and application performance.
  • Troubleshoots network, systems, and application performance systems when necessary and provides empirical data and recommendations to improve performance.

Day-to-Day Tasks/Required Expertise:

  • Run through morning checklist and perform health check on the monitoring systems within the EMS team
  • Proficient with Windows and/or Linux Operating System administration
  • Familiar with enterprise monitoring solutions, agent installs, capacity reporting, disaster recovery
  • Experience with current tools such as Broadcom DX NETOPS Suite (UIM, APM, Spectrum, NFA, and PM)
  • Utilize data center monitoring tools consist of Data Center Expert, Nlyte, and IT Advisor 
  • The candidate should be able to add, remove, or modify systems to the monitoring tools and been familiar with basic monitoring tool administration, terminology, and architectures.

Qualifications

Required Experience:   

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of related experience in managing efforts involving any combination of application performance management (APM), systems performance management (SPM), and network performance management (NPM) design and implementation, systems analysis and design, system feasibility studies, systems integration, data conversion and implementation support, database planning and design, programming, and network services. 
  • Must have a good understanding of monitoring architecture, topologies, Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) best practices, and Application/Infrastructure monitoring best practices.
