SAIC is seeking a qualified Configuration Analyst to support the US Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

AFAMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S), training, and analysis standards that support the US Air Force (USAF), Department of Defense (DoD), and mission partners. AFAMS gathers requirements, seeks out potential solutions, and integrates legacy and emerging M&S solutions across the USAF and the DoD. The USAF M&S mission focuses on providing simulation and synthetic training to augment live training, act as an enabler for critical decision-making, and enhance human performance.

The role of this position is to support the US Air Forces in Europe & Air Forces Africa Warfare Center (UAWC) at Einsiedlerhof Air Station in Germany. The Configuration Analyst Principal will:

  • Develop, maintain, and archive network infrastructure diagrams.
  • Define, manage, and control configuration baselines for networks, IT systems, and communication infrastructure.
  • Maintain circuit action records, hardware and software modification documentation, and network/rack elevation diagrams.
  • Establish, document, and manage the IT change management process.
    • Develop and administer Change Requests and Change Request Templates.
    • Schedule and manage Change Control Board (CCB) reviews; document results and disseminate to CCB members and participants.
    • Provide technical input to the Configuration Control Board and the Engineering Working Group.
  • Assess Cybersecurity Impact Evaluations and record impacts to baselines.
  • Obtain and document support information for IT systems, including warranty coverage period, providers, POCs, and warranty claim procedures.
  • Ensure IT equipment is registered with vendors, DoD, and other parties as required to ensure proper coverage under warranty and maintenance agreements.
  • Document, track, and actively manage end-of-sale / end-of-life information for IT equipment and software. Formulate and recommend projected life-cycle replacement plans.
  • Assist in coordinating for the acquisition of IT and communications equipment, software, and services.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience; or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Teams, Lists, Sharepoint, and Vizio.
  • US Citizen and possess Active US Secret Security Clearance.

Desired Experience/Qualifications:

  • ·       Configuration Management Process Improvement Center (CMPIC) Course 3 or ITIL 4 Strategic Leader certification.
  • ·       Experience supporting LVC distributed training systems and distributed training centers and facilities.
  • ·       Experience with Risk Management Framework and eMASS.
