SAIC is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Air Base Air Defense (ABAD) Battle Management Command and Control (BMC2) system providing the United States Air Force’s airbases with a networked and resilient air defense capability.  The ABAD BMC2 system provides the local Wing Commander a tactical operational picture aligned with the Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) and Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) theater capabilities while providing point defense with the command and control of organic sensors and effectors. This next generation system shall employ the latest advancements across the technology spectrum to include AI/ML and distributed architectures. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in large, complex system of systems design, development, and integration projects.

This role will require expertise in software (SW) design, development, configuration management, architecture, and large distributed (networked) compute platforms.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Provide system of system (SoS) engineering and support which will include participation in all technical reviews, design reviews, technical interchange meetings (TIMs), and technical working groups.
• Develop, review and evaluate engineering change proposals, white papers, interface change requests, design options, design specification changes, interface specifications, and system engineering documents.
• Perform requirements analysis, maintain data tracing requirements to design, maintain data tracing requirements to test procedures and TRs, and develop metrics for the evaluation algorithms.
• Conduct code reviews for software changes, perform development testing, develop and maintain unit test procedures, provide code difference reports, and collect required software metrics.
• Recommend software upgrades or new capabilities, perform root cause analysis of TORs and TRs, develop TORs for discovered problems, and review and identify documentation modifications.

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

Target salary range: $100,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
