SAIC is currently looking for a Hardware Electrical Engineer to support our Unmanned Air System (UAS) Support Equipment (SE) team located in Lakehurst, NJ.
An active Secret clearance is required.
General Overview of the role:
Conducts research, design, development, and testing of information processing hardware such as computer chips, circuit boards, computer systems, and electrical components. Designs new or modifies existing products, develops technical specifications for production, analyzes hardware configuration and processing solutions, and tests hardware conformance to specifications. Work may encompass one or several areas of engineering including electronic design, mechanical design, reliability engineering or other related fields. Responsible for establishing and conducting testing routines; developing or executing project plans, budgets, and schedules, and documentation of work and results.
Qualifications
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.
- An active Secret clearance is required.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Low-power work experience with machine control cabinets , human interface consoles, and/or sensors/instrumentation which leverage or interface programmable logic controllers (PLC), computers, complex programmable logic devices, and/or embedded devices.
- High-power interface, power conversion, and/or power conditioning work experience with electric motors, motor/generators, transformers, rectifiers, inverters, and/or large energy storage infrastructure
- Control systems, high power, modeling and simulation expertise, Labview, PLC and embedded devices
