Description
SAIC is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to support a multi-faceted and complex mission area for a Government customer. Work will be performed in the Dulles, and Tyson’s areas.
The Engineer will prepare cost estimates for development and support projects, advise on proper structuring of SOW, develop project schedules, prepare / edit test plans, and generate test reports and various IV&V documents. The candidate will act with and sometimes independently of staff officers as a designee to observe tests and other milestones throughout the project cycle. The ideal candidate will advise staff officers on best practices for field support, training, and technical developments and provide support for monitoring and advising on technical developments, particularly as they apply to tools and techniques required for excavation practices. The candidate must be able to quickly get up to speed with basic engineering and construction concepts and techniques such as:
· Project Management (Construction)
· Geotechnical or Mining Engineering
· Structural loading experience
· Various construction materials
