SAIC is seeking a Technology Investment Engineer to provide technical project management support and subject matter expertise on a dynamic, energized team on a leading-edge technology program with an exciting mission that is critical to national security objectives. The successful candidate will provide project expertise and stay apprised of both Sponsor and commercial capabilities in one or more of the following areas: RF Technologies, communications architectures, cloud computing services, mobile security, hardware security environments, Data Broker Environments, and/or other signals collection.
Job Duties:
- Engage with other Department customers and leverage personal network to understand mission requirements, serve as a conduit between engineering and user groups, communicate with key Department stakeholders, and provide recommendations and assessments on engineering products and capabilities.
- Interface regularly with field users to capture technology use cases and requirements to enhance commercial strategic capabilities and investment strategies for product development.
- Understand operational challenges and have experience developing mitigation strategies to solve those challenges.
- Work with Customer Technical Directors to develop framework for evaluating emerging technology, which leverages existing emerging technology initiatives across the Sponsor organization.
- Work with Customer Partners (Industry, Academia, etc.) to leverage their emerging technology investment for the mission.
- Be willing to travel to attend technical exchange meetings (CONUS) to represent Customer as directed.
- Support Cradle to Grave project management for selected investments
- Support technology transition to the field.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience
- Have and maintain familiarity with business traveler protection technologies (i.e. secure mobile environments).
- Have and maintain familiarity of information technology trends in the commercial sector to include zero-trust architectures, cloud migration, and network security.
- Understand and anticipate user requirements for emerging technology, to keep pace with technological advantages and ensure consistency for users.
- Experience establishing transition path for emerging technology investments to reduce rate of failure related to transition.
- Experience evaluating technical landscapes by providing technical oversight, as a technical advisor to Customer leadership team.
- Experience engaging with internal, external, and industry partners.
- Outstanding coordination skills and ability to build customer relationships, along with a high comfort level managing multiple requirements.
Desired:
- Have familiarity with roadmap planning with respect to the Sponsor’s technology needs/gaps; with a focus on commercial communications topics such as cloud services, encryption and transports, field user segments, IoT communications, and other internet-based and off-internet communications technologies.
- Have experience implementing existing and emerging consumer electronics
- Have experience applying system architecture knowledge to support formal certification of system delivery requirements.
- Have experience supporting technology discovery, research, and evaluation, and applying operational knowledge and expertise to determine suit ability of development capabilities.
- Have experience supporting continuous evaluation of key enabling capabilities into product development efforts across the Customer organization, balancing operational requirements against risk and maturity.
- Have experience working with advanced technology developers, like National Labs, to ensure Sponsor’s program requirements are met.
- Conduct analysis of various components at the integrated circuit, module, board, and system levels to assist in engineering trade-off activities.
- Understand application of AI/ML algorithms to solve intelligence problems.
