Job Role Specific Requirements:

   Core responsibilities and duties; highlight day-to-day activities:

  1. Monitor and administer Enterprise IT Security policies, maintain IT Security procedures, daily operating checklist, drive process improvements, and continuous security monitoring.
  2. Manage the day-to-day Cyber Security activities of threat and vulnerability management, security awareness, identify risk tolerances, recommend treatment plans and communicate information about residual risk including vulnerability scanning, account management and review, penetration testing, and insider threats.
  3. Proficiency in process of gathering, analyzing and assessing the current and future threat landscape, performing risk, business impact, control and vulnerability assessments including remediation and treatment strategies.
  4. Ensure compliance with NIST Cyber Security and Risk Management Framework to maintain

confidentiality, integrity and availability of information systems.

  1. Work with strategic and tactical guidance from leadership to implement IT Security projects, including the evaluation and recommendation of technical controls
  2. Ability to communicate effectively with the Infrastructure and Applications teams, establish direction, foster teamwork, create an atmosphere of trust, leverage diverse views, encourage dialogue, encourage improvement and innovation

Experience: Must have a minimum of 6 years of related experience administrating enterprise anti-virus

                   software, specifically Symantec.  Must have experience using the DOT Anti-Virus system (currently

                   Symantec).Duties:  Performs day-to-day activities required to administer and deploy Symantec anti-

                   virus software to all required workstations and servers.  Centrally manages Symantec related settings

                   using various servers.  Manages workstation anti-virus software, DAT, and engineer updates.  Performs

                   virus scans and updates as scheduled.  Troubleshoots complex issues and provides incident

                   resolution for all related incidents requiring escalated support or subject matter enterprise.  Assists

                   with malware response efforts.

 

   Preferred skills and qualifications:

  1. GIAC – SANS certifications
  2. CEH

Top Qualifications, Skills, Experience or Certifications: 

  1. B.S. in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, MIS or related field
  2. Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in Cyber Security in a fast paced work environment
  3. Masters Degree and zero years experience needed
  4. Excellent communication, analyzation, and troubleshooting skills
  5. Hands on experience working with STIGs and NIST guidelines
  6. Experience with Vulnerability management cycle, scanning and compliance tools
  7. Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concept

   the ability to obtain a public trust


Target salary range: $75,001 - $100,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
