JOB DESCRIPTION:  We are seeking an experienced technical instructor to assist the Customer with a new technical training program for the technical research, development, and engineering occupation by providing instructional expertise to newly developed courses.  Initially the instructor will support the occupational onboarding course that will be approximately two weeks long and will run approximately four times per year, and longer term will include other courses as the occupational curriculum expands.  Other position details include: 

·       The training will emphasize student-centered, experiential learning that requires strong facilitation skills.

·       The courses will be hybrid – virtual, in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous.

·       The instructor will assist with assessing student performance.

·       The instructor will assist the training team with course reviews and modifications between course runnings.

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

Required Qualifications:

·       Active TS/SCI clearance with full-scope polygraph.

·       Bachelor's degree (4 years of relevant experience may substitute in lieu of degree) and (14) years or more of related experience. Masters and (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and (9) years or more experience.

·       Five years of demonstrated experience in project management, engineering, and/or research in the Customer space.

·       Two years of teaching experience in adult education.

·       Demonstrated strong understanding of the technical research, development, and engineering sub-occupation and its capabilities and contributions across the Customer space.

·       Demonstrated ability to tailor communication and proven ability to facilitate discussions among groups of people of differing sizes, diverse backgrounds, and knowledge.

·       Demonstrated ability as a self-starter, to team effectively, regularly work outside your comfort zone, and to adapt to emerging technologies and evolving requirements.

 

Desired Qualifications:

 

·       Experience working as a technical officer in the field.

·       Experience working with external partners such as National Labs, Federal Labs, Academia, etc.
