Accelerate your career and make a difference for national security in Space by helping lead a team of industry professionals and experts that will architect and build a cloud-based software factory in support of Space Development Agency’s Battle Management Command, Control and Communication (BMC3) Program. The system that you and your team will create will establish the capability to securely and rapidly field mission applications developed by BMC3 ecosystem participants for space vehicle platforms in support of Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) objectives. This position will provide you with exposure to advanced security and automation practices, as well as the opportunity to work with highly skilled engineers and architects. Additionally, you will have the chance to mentor junior developers and leverage your leadership abilities.  

   

SAIC is seeking an Application Factory Chief to support a key technical role on a fast paced highly innovative SDA project with the development of a cloud-based software factory for the BMC3 program. We are looking for innovative and motivated individual to lead the development and integration of the BMC3 App Factory and integration, testing, and operational support of BMC3 applications. Candidates must have extensive experience executing software developmental programs with demonstrated ability to lead an Agile software development team in support of program management to meet customer milestones. This position is primarily remote 

   

Primary responsibilities include:   

  • Leading and coordinating development, testing, and issue resolution activities within the BMC3 AppFactory Team 

  • Ensure identification of key deliverables and interdependence between the BMC3 AppFactory, associate contractor deliverables and planned BMC3 integration, test, and deployment activities. 

  • Participate in milestone reviews and other NDSA activities to maintain situational awareness and ensure interoperability with other aspects of the NDSA. Such events may include Space Vehilcle Vendor Milestone reviews; O&I Contractor milestone reviews; BMC3 Application developer milestone events (e.g. Kickoff); SDA Engineering Review Boards. 

  • Support and coordinate with the O&I Contractor on the Verification and Test reviews for the BMC3 software/firmware and AppFac development 

  • Participate in associate contractor Risk Management Boards or equivalent for system-wide risk evaluation, and review risk for impacts, recommend new risks if needed, and report problems with risks outside the associate contractors’ control. 

  • Ensure development of schedules for the AppFactory development 

  • Developing and briefing data packages that provide analysis results  to inform the government decision-makers. 

  • Collaborating with Prime contractors, other team contractors, government civilians, and members of the Space Development Agency and U.S. Space Force.  

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:nbsp;Bachelors and eighteen (18) years or more experience; Masters and sixteen (16) years or more experience; PhD or JD and fifteen (15) years or more experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and eighteen plus (18+); Master’s Degree and sixteen plus (16+); PhD or JD and fifteen plus (15+)  with demonstrated integration and cybersecurity experience in space, ground, operations and sustainment segments of DoD, NSA, or NRO programs. 

  • Proven delivery record of similarly focused programs. 

  • Experience with integrating multiple programs/products to deliver a system of systems or series of capability deliveries. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills to enable working, interfacing, and interrelating with diverse personnel and dynamic teams.   

  • Experienced at self-starting, seeking solutions, and works well in a team environment  

  • Demonstrated experience working with Space Force/Air Force/DoD customers in an acquisition environment, with space and/or ground systems. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational and interpersonal skills 

  • Familiarity with cloud-based systems, operating systems, databases, networking, firewalls, Network Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS) and host-based IDS and IPS. 

  • Extensive experience in Agile development of infrastructure, complex system of systems design, development innovative solutions, Government integration projects, cloud computing and automation, with a focus on the design of systems and services that run on cloud platforms. This role will require expertise in software (SW) design, development, configuration management, architecture, and distributed (networked) compute platforms with space assets.  

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility 

  • Advanced Degree in Science, Engineering or Math 

CERTIFICATIONS: 

Possess a DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (e.g. Security+) or the ability to obtain the certification within 60 days 


Target salary range: $175,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
