SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician IV in Crane, IN. This position requires the candidate to be responsible for performing activities involving the testing, trouble-shooting and repair of military avionic assemblies and cable/harnesses. Candidates must have a basic understanding of electronic circuits, mechanical assembly, and cable assembly.

Note: This position is fully onsite.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Engineering Technician IV performs task assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents, receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed, performs recurring work independently. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy (or conformity with instructions). This technician performs at this level one or a combination of such typical duties as:

• Testing avionic assemblies to determine the failure mode and perform the steps to repair the failure.
• Following specific layouts, procedures, drawings, or scientific diagrams to construct cable/harnesses.
• Assisting in design modification of cable/harnesses when given specifications and/or drawings.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate's Degree in related discipline and two (2) years or more of related experience; OR High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of test and troubleshooting to component level repair experience
• Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance. Interim Secret is needed to start
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must be able to:
• Communicate well
• Work within a team to find solutions
• Document processes and provide expertise for customer feedback
• Meet specified deadlines - position is very time sensitive with deliverable schedule
• Maintain schedules, track progress, and provide status reports
• Intermediate skill set with MS Office
