Job Description


SAIC is looking for a Systems Engineer in Virginia Beach, VA.

This position is contingent upon award in July/August of 2024.

The Systems Engineer will analyze actual and predictable, interacting, operational activities of a military, governmental, or business system to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision-making through the application of logic and scientific or economic disciplines and techniques. Participates in planning, scheduling, and coordinating selected analytical process phases or assists in working any selection of subcomponents of the exercise/gaming activity. Devises modeling and measuring techniques; utilizes mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques (linear programming, game theory, probability theory, symbolic language, etc.) and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines. Possesses specific knowledge of analytical models, simulations and gaming tools. Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role. Develops technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.



Education and experience: 

  • Bachelors in an Engineering discipline, Physics or Mathematics and 2+ years of experience; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. 

Required skills:

  • Must have experience with Navy Shipboard Combat Systems.
  • Familiar with one or more of the following: Integrated Training System Working Group (ITSWG), Training Domain IPT (TD IPT), and other technical exchanges. 
  • Must be familiar with software and hardware systems testing procedures.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.

Required clearance:

  • Must have an active Interim Secret or Secret clearance.
