SAIC has an immediate opening for an Accountant to support customer activities on a high visibility effort. In this role you will be responsible for assessing the technical accounting requirements for a variety of complex transactions; implementing new accounting standards; recommending and implementing industry best practices; and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures are maintained for all relevant process areas. This position is located in Tysons Corner.
 
Responsibilities:

• Perform technical accounting research on significant and unique transactions and assist in the preparation of accounting memoranda and executive summaries documenting the accounting impact and conclusions
• Review and analyze new accounting pronouncements to determine the impact and when applicable, assist with the implementation of new standards
• Assist in the drafting of new/updated global accounting policies 
• Provide analysis and support to external auditors

Qualifications

Qualifications - External

• Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI with Polygraph prior to starting
• Master's Degree in Taxation or Accounting
• 3 or more years of related experience, academic experience included
• A strong interest in performing technical accounting research over a broad range of topics
• Ability to navigate and interpret the relevant authoritative literature and evaluate and recommend solutions
• Exceptional communication skills (written and oral) and a demonstrated ability to prepare and organize work paper files
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong multi-tasking skills and flexibility to switch from one project to the next
• Experience working for one of the Big 4 public accounting firms

Desired Experience:

• Experience in forensic accounting to include anti-money laundering activities
• Certified Public Accountant
