SAIC is currently seeking a Junior Software Engineer, to support the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration (S3I) organization at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.

Job Description:  The candidate for this position will provide software engineering support for programs that support Army aviation.  Candidate will work in support of a software development team that is designing and developing software applications to enhance Army Aviation maintenance and operations activities, as well as integrating existing aviation software applications. Candidate will be responsible for the analysis of software requirements and specifications, providing input into system architecture design, and participation in software development and sustainment activities.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of related experience; Four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree.

Required Clearance:

• Must be able to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance prior to employment; must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance to maintain employment.

Required Skills:

• Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Microsoft .NET framework
• Demonstrate the ability to write and test C# code
• Demonstrate a working understanding of relational database design (Microsoft SQL Server preferred)
• Show proficiency in writing queries and stored procedures
• Have some experience building Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) applications
• Have familiarity with the MVVM design pattern
• Demonstrate an understanding of object-oriented design principles and best practices
• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

Desired Skills:

• LINQ
• JSON
• XML
• Familiarity with Azure Dev Ops
• Experience writing Unit Tests
• Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (WCF, REST, WebAPI)
• Knowledge of Army Aviation systems, processes and data is a plus
