SAIC is seeking a Principal Software Systems Engineer to support the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific Messaging CB ISEA in San Diego, CA. 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The SAIC Team provides a full range of engineering, technical support, management, and logistics services in support of the Messaging programs. Support of these systems includes technical support for installations; providing systems and software engineering, and documentation that supports associated Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR); Test Facility manning in support of software development, integration and testing of hardware and software investment functions; and testing of new baseline and/or new capability of messaging systems.  The work will be conducted onsite aboard the Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific (NIWC PAC), San Diego, CA, Old Town Center.

JOB DUTIES:

• Works with a team to develop, integrate, test, and deploy a system that is isolated from the internet.
• Maintain, deploy, and support internal infrastructure, including client computer systems, servers, switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Establish and maintain GIT repository in development environment isolated from internet. 
• Provide system administration support for Red Hat Linux, Windows, and Solaris based servers and virtual machines. 
• Provide configuration and administration support for various enterprise system hosts and clients including workstations, virtual machines, and network appliances. 
• Provide installation, configuration, and administration support for database, identity and access management, and messaging services incorporated into a Platform as a Service (PaaS) infrastructure. 
• Assist with the design and implementation of a PaaS. 
• Develop scripts to support testing of platform services exposed to applications running within containers. Assist test team with development of automated and manual test procedures. 
• Document system configurations and administration processes.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

• Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
• Active CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Active or able to obtain a professional certification for Linux (e.g. CompTIA Linux+, RCSA) or Windows (e.g. MCSA) within 60 days of start
• Experience providing desktop, server and VM support with different operating systems and technologies
• Experience maintaining IT networks (Cisco routers, switches, maintaining network connections, etc.)
• Candidate must be a US Citizen.
• Candidate must currently possess an active DoD Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.  

 

Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
