SAIC is currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the PMO ASE team located in Huntsville, AL.

Job Duties:

The candidate will function as an integral member of a team of Government, military, and contractor personnel that provide program, engineering, and technical support to Project Management Office, Aircraft Survivability Equipment (PMO ASE). The PMO ASE is an acquisition management organization under the Program Executive Office (PEO) Intelligence Electronic Warfare and Sensors (IEW&S).  The team provides acquisition management support, program research, engineering, logistics, and technical support for aircraft survivability equipment.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Requirements allocation/trace and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Incorporates airworthiness standards into requirements and test plans
  • Conducted analyses at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, integration and test, installation, operation, and maintenance
  • Develops contractor statements of work and tracks contractor technical progress
  • Creates technology road maps
  • Assists with flight test activities
  • Risk assessment management
  • Assist with Diminishing Manufacturing Supply, Material Shortages process
  • Review and approve Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) items
  • Support technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and effectiveness analyses for total systems.

 

Qualifications

Required Education: 

  • Bachelors degree and five (5) years or more experience; four (4) additional years of experience accepted in lieu of degree. 

Required Clearance:  

  • Must be able to obtain an Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to employment; must be able to obtain a full Secret Clearance to maintain employment. 

Required Skills: 

  • Familiarity with Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) for military applications
  • Familiarity with Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) Application
  • Understanding of established Systems Engineering processes and concepts
  • Experience defining, conducting, and evaluating requirement verification activities
  • Knowledge of the DoD Acquisition and Life Cycle Management System
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, including report writing
  • Self-motivated and customer-oriented

Desired Skills: 

  • Experience with airborne platform products
  • Experience with airborne avionics products
  • Must be able to display an understanding of signal processing and electrical circuitry analysis
  • Knowledge of the Army Airworthiness Release (AWR) process
  • IBM DOORS
  • TopVUE
  • Strong background with Army Design and MIL Standards (MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-1472, etc)
  • Experience with software development, maturation, and testing
  • Experience with PMO ASE
