Make a difference for national security by joining a team of dedicated IT professionals who will sustain, modernize and transform the enterprise IT capabilities for the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).  The National Security & Space Sector of SAIC is seeking a Data Engineer Sr. to support a transformational infrastructure program for DCSA.

SAIC is proud to be supporting DCSA in safeguarding our nation’s information. DCSA is the designated oversight authority on the accreditation of classified facilities, information systems, and the insider threat program. This involves security oversight of more than 10,000 companies and approximately 13,000 facilities involved in classified work throughout the DoD and 31 Federal agencies.

 

Specifically, on the DCSA One IT program, SAIC will provide an enterprise IT solution that delivers highly secured and adaptable IT infrastructure, provides customer support, and cutting-edge technologies that support operations and advance the DCSA mission under a single IT environment (i.e., One IT).

Job Description

Provides engineering support to data management efforts of the Program Executive Office (PEO), including the development of data interfaces for the transfer of data for the application development efforts to drive transformative change in IT resource planning and execution using the Acquisition and Budget Management (ABM) Tool and the ServiceNow platform as part of overall transformation efforts to provide innovative, emergent, and continual business process and enterprise IT solution improvements to the DCSA OCIO environment IAW DoD and DCSA OCIO policies, procedures, and data standards. Facilitates utilization of the ABM tool as a central source of historical information for agency data. From a data perspective supports delivery of enhancements and improved user experience and impact of the ABM Tool (DEL 114); enhanced ABM Tool capabilities to enable leadership to better manage and forecast resource needs across DCSA (DEL 116); and investigative analytics for and creation of Dashboards within ServiceNow to convey digestible and interactive graphics for more informed decision-making capabilities. Defines data management aspects of the solution to include the approach, architecture, analysis, technologies, design, development, and execution. Plans and executes data extractions, transformation and loading, data warehousing, data analysis, design of complex queries, and data visualization activities. Identifies capabilities required to extract data and direct flow, as well as identifies data destinations and staging locations. Applies frequent scripting language and builds scalable and reliable data pipelines to support data ingestions (batch / streaming) and transformation from multiple data sources. Supports data normalization and labeling of data. Requests prioritization of data sets through collaboration with the DCSA cloud services and data team. Collects and tracks requirements tied to specific data sets and determines capacity requirements for data sets. Maintains data dictionaries for each data set. Coordinates and manages metadata/tagging of resources for enterprise discovery and sharing and provides updates to the DCSA data management portal. Creates low-level design artifacts, including architecture diagrams and mapping specifications. 

Qualifications

It is required that the Data Engineer Sr. have the following qualifications:
 

  • BA/BS
  • 5 to 8  years of experience
  • Secret
  • IAT Level II

 

Desired Qualifications

  • MA/MS with 3 to 6 years of experience

Target salary range: $105,001 - $115,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
