Description

SAIC has a need for an IT Lead Engineer (scope includes networks and systems) in North Charleston, SC. This role is Hybrid remote and you will be required to be on-site 50% of the time.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, planning, modification, and maintenance of networks, networking components, and IT systems in support of a contract supporting the design, development, and delivery of Controlled Unclassified Information – Special (CUI-SP) related program solutions. The candidate with serve as the site lead for all program network infrastructure and IT systems.  

NETWORK RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies as well as internal studies of network performance and traffic analysis for both wired and wireless solutions.

Duties may include:

  • Providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture; providing information for hardware and software selection; and tools for the most efficient solution to meet program requirements, including present and future capacity requirements.
  • Conducts security testing of network.
  • Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Implements DoD Cybersecurity controls, to include those associated with CUI-SP across all components.
  • Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.  

SYSTEMS RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for systems administration services following DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides, CUI-SP requirements, and industry best practices to install, maintain, upgrade, and harden infrastructure.
  • Responsible for the installation and configuration of new software and hardware, including the server network, devices, and firewalls on program specific networks.
  • Responsible for monitoring system performance, IT system operations and storage utilization.
  • Advises program stakeholders on necessary hardware/software upgrades to keep pace with operational demands / requirements.
  • Manages user accounts and assets and assigns and updates security permissions on the network according to program security policies.
  • Provides support with escalated help desk requests. 

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Extensive expertise in wired and wireless networking, including Firewalls, VPNs, routers, and switches.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Active Directory and Server/Client architectures and administration. 
  • Extensive experience implementing DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides for networking and system components.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Prior support of CUI-SP related systems considered a plus.  

CLEARANCE:

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
