Description
SAIC is seeking a highly experienced Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Sr Principal Systems Engineer on the Horizon Program to support the US Space Force (USSF) in development, integration, and implementation of SATCOM solutions for the Space Systems Command Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power (SSC/SZ) portfolio. Position is available in sunny El Segundo, California.
Fun stuff you will do on this job:
- You will lead engineering teams to develop and deploy space and ground based space-to-ground SATCOM systems
- You will perform system integration of multiple efforts to integrate space SATCOM systems with satellites and satellite operations centers
- You will direct and participate in analyses and implementation of advanced communication applications
- You will also direct various systems architecting and engineering activities such as system requirements definition, interface definition, design, interface management, data architecture development, systems integration, performance analysis, lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis, development and refinement of communications concepts of operation, and verification and validation
- And you'll independently collaborate with Government program office representatives, FFRDC, SETA, and contractor personnel
Qualifications
This is what you'll need to have to be successful in this role:
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Physics, and or Mathematics plus fourteen (14) years or more experience, or a Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience
- An Active TS/SCI clearance and be willing to consent to a polygraph examination
- Experience with development, integration, and/or operations of DoD or other Agency (NRO, NSA, NASA, etc.) SATCOM ground and space systems
- Experience with leading systems engineering teams focused on integration of complex space and/or ground systems

Target salary range: $175,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
