Description
SAIC’s Horizon Program is seeking an experienced Principal Systems Engineer specializing in Eletro-Optical systems to support to the US Space Force (USSF) in developing, deploying, and sustaining the Geosynchronous Space Situational Awareness Program (GSSAP) within the Space Systems Command Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power system program office located in El Segundo, CA.
Typical job responsibilities Include:
- Serve as technical subject matter expert for acquisition, operation, and sustainment of space based EO systems for USSF system program office
- Coordinate with cross-functional program teams (e.g., contractors, subcontractors, space segment, SEIT, stakeholders) in development, integration, test, verification, and validation of space based EO systems through the complete life cycle of the program
- Review proposed changes to the technical baseline and assess impacts to enterprise, system, and subsystems
- Address technical issues and prepare briefings and reports to guide USSF management decision making
Qualifications
- Bachelors and nine (9) years’ experience, with all or some of the following:
- Systems Engineering and Integration activities of major system development programs
- Performing Electro-optical engineering on space and/or ground systems
- Supporting technical programs throughout the engineering life cycle with emphasis in systems engineering and major DoD systems acquisitions
- Must have an in-scope background investigation (SSBI/T5) and the ability to obtain Sensitive Compartment Information and Special Access Program accesses as well as be willing to consent to a counter-intelligence polygraph examination
Desired Skills
- Master’s degree in engineering or related technical field or technical management emphasis
- Professional certifications (e.g., INCOSE CSEP)
- Experience in the National Security Space and, or the Space Control mission area

Target salary range: $150,001 - $175,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
