Make a difference for national security by joining a team of dedicated IT professionals who will sustain, modernize and transform the enterprise IT capabilities for the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA).  The National Security & Space Sector of SAIC is seeking a Procurement Coordinator to support a transformational infrastructure program for DCSA. 

SAIC is proud to be supporting DCSA in safeguarding our nation’s information. DCSA is the designated oversight authority on the accreditation of classified facilities, information systems, and the insider threat program. This involves security oversight of more than 10,000 companies and approximately 13,000 facilities involved in classified work throughout the DoD and 31 Federal agencies. 

Specifically, on the DCSA One IT program, SAIC will provide an enterprise IT solution that delivers highly secured and adaptable IT infrastructure, provides customer support, and cutting-edge technologies that support operations and advance the DCSA mission under a single IT environment (i.e., One IT).

Job Description

The Procurement Coordinator will directly support the Business Operations Lead in the Program Management Office and work as a liaison between procurement department personnel, program personnel and government customers across this large program.  He/she should be knowledgeable about SAIC procurement policies and procedures as well as contract requirements.  The candidate must be outgoing, flexible and responsive to support the team as necessary. He/she must have a positive outlook and personable personality with “can do” attitude, who easily works with many types of people.  If you are someone who enjoys helping others achieve success, this is the job for you!

Some activities our procurement coordinator will perform include:

  • Working closely with Project Managers and government customers to complete required procurement documentation
  • Creating Purchase Action Requests and working with assigned Buyer and/or procurement managers to ensure timely acquisition of requested items and/or services
  • Providing weekly reports to FEDSIM and DCSA customers as to procurement status
  • Assisting the Program Office in maintaining/updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all administrative processes and procedures
  • Processing Requests to Initiate Purchase to secure necessary funding approvals
  • Communicating with vendors to track procured items and ensure the accuracy of items delivered
  • Working with recipients to acquire master packing slips and/or other verification of items received
  • Processing Extended Work Week requests
  • Processing Requests to Initiate Purchase for all ODC expenses


Required Qualifications  

It is required that the Procurement Coordinator have the following qualifications: 

  • BA/BS and three (3) years or more of relevant experience providing task execution/procurement and/or program administrative support, preferably to government customers, including creating meeting agendas, taking minutes and responding to task requirements.

  • Six (6) years work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree. 

  • An Associate’s Degree plus four (4) years work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.  Or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.

  • Secret clearance


Some skills and character traits the Procurement Coordinator should have:

  • Comfortable in adapting to shifting priorities and to function in a fast paced environment 
  • The ability to interact professionally and respectfully with employees and government customers
  • Responsiveness to deadlines and completeness in accomplishing assignments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs (Word, Power Point, Excel) and Outlook (email, calendars)
  • The ability to effectively communicate processes and procedures is highly desirable 
  • Familiarity with Atlassian Suite of Tools (Jira and Confluence) desirable


Target salary range: $75,001 - $85,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
