SAIC is seeking a Configuration Management Engineer to provide Systems Engineer Technical Advisor (SETA) services for a critical position on SAIC’s Prime Program, Landmark AOS in Chantilly, VA.  Landmark AOS is a large SETA program, supporting the NRO’s Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED), responsible for the acquisition of systems over the complete end-to-end life cycle. 

The Configuration Management Engineer will serve a USG Program Office in the development of an evolutionary, revolutionary, and transformational ground architecture to support the customer’s next generation space systems and technology.  The architecture will support and deliver capabilities in a modular, open architecture that provides global, persistent, real-time surveillance and activity-based intelligence information. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead configuration management efforts for this program, integrating space and ground development with complex user and broad system interfaces
  • Work with stakeholders to maintain configuration control of system requirements, model based systems engineering artifacts and system interfaces
  • Provide Systems Engineering expertise as part of a world-class Engineering and Integration team
  • Conduct and maintain Configuration Management of program baseline
  • Develop briefings and assessments to a variety of audiences, and convey information in a clear and articulate manner to Government leadership
  • Strategize with government, SETA and industry partners to conceptualize a future ground architecture to drive the customer's new space architecture
  • Collaborate across multiple teams to refine requirements and system trades
  • Provide programmatic and acquisition support to include drafting Request for Proposal and Statement of Work material and participating in source selection activities
  • Participate in design reviews and technical interchange meetings to assess and guide development activities performed by development contractors
  • Review development contractor’s documents and procedures, requirements flow down, verification methodologies, calibration plans, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and test plans to ensure program success
  • Technical and programmatic support through the entire project life cycle including concept development, system definition, acquisition planning, source selection, system design, development, integration and test, system delivery, and mission operations

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience (additional relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree)
  • Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with Poly 
  • Experience in systems integration and configuration management
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of large space/ground systems integration and test activities to enable the successful demonstration of operational capabilities in a larger enterprise.  
  • Exceptional communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to quickly understand and respond to Government queries
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and verbal / written communication skills, able to convey information across multiple customer and corporate audiences
  • Familiarity with MS Office tool suite
