Job Description


SAIC is seeking a Software Systems Engineer with a background in Developmental Operations (DevOps) and/or Agile development methods to provide technical support to a program within the Program Executive Office's Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power portfolio in El Segundo, CA and Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Fun stuff on the job:
  • Assess project objectives and propose requirements allocation across the system(s), inform design trades, author and manage systems engineering documentation (eg, technical writing), implement configuration management procedures, and review and assess contractor design solutions to determine if they meet requirements and recommend alternative solutions as necessary
  • Identify software development risks and notify the program management team, develop assessments of contractor software development, partner with the development contractor to guide software and integration and testing
  • Monitor software algorithm development and provide independent assessments, recommend procedural and system improvements and efficiencies
  • Develop software technical requirements, develop software test plans and procedure, oversee software testing, verification, and validation activities


This is you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 9+ years of related experience (or Master’s with 3+ years)
  • Requires an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a SCI clearance (willing to consent to a polygraph examination)
  • Background in Agile Software Development with experience in the following areas:
    • Program Management (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, etc)
    • Development (e.g., DevOps, Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment, etc)
    • Architecture (e.g., Docker Containers, Kubernetes, etc)
    • Infrastructure (e.g., Cloud - Platform One)
You will wow us even more if you have these skills:
  • Master's Degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field
  • Professional certification (e.g., INCOSE CSEP, SAFe, etc)
  • Experience in the National Security Space and, or the Space Control mission area
  • Experience working in development environment and, or U.S. Government weapons system program office

Target salary range: $145,001 - $155,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
