SAIC is seeking a motivated and ambitious Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Network Engineer to join the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate (S3I) Joint Technology Center – Systems Integration Lab (JSIL) Tech Center located onsite at Redstone Arsenal/Huntsville, AL. 

The UAS Network Systems Integrator will perform system level installation, configuration, automation, test, and analysis on Multi-layer Switches, Firewalls, Linux based operating systems, and hypervisor-based environments with a majority of the work geared toward network equipment considerations.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Work with software developers and systems engineers to design and integrate network configurations, firewall configurations, and associated documentation
• Work within an Agile scrum development model supporting the development of full system installation images on a biweekly basis
• Troubleshoot network issues on virtual and physical switches and firewalls
• Use scripting languages to develop automated network configuration installation and configuration using Bash, PowerShell, Java, and Python
• Automate the creation, deployment, and configuration of virtual machines and networks as part of a global UAS system installation
• Develop engineering technical material including but not limited to system description documents, network installation guides, data flow, and network diagrams

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• BS and five (5) years of experience; four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree

 REQUIRED SKILLS: 

• Experience with Cisco Systems, network administration and firewalls
• Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell
• Experience with general Internet and network troubleshooting
• Strong understanding of general computing system architectures and virtual machines
• Experience performing remote network configuration

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:

• Must have an active Interim with the ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance 

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Security+ SE, Network+ SE, or a CCNA
• Experience with datacenter architectures (cluster computing, fault tolerant, or high availability system)
• Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Experience with configuration management tools, such as Chef, Puppet, and/or Ansible
• Experience writing technical documentation
• Experience with Atlassian workflow management software
• Experience with software development or software test
