SAIC is seeking a motivated and ambitious Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Systems Engineering Lead to join the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate (S3I) Joint Technology Center – Systems Integration Lab (JSIL) CERT Center.  The JSIL CERT Center UAS Systems Engineering Lead will lead the team in system design, development, integration, testing and updating various interoperability tools and capabilities within the CERT Center, as well as lead the team in requirements gathering, schedule management, and validation of system functionality.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Ability to lead systems engineering efforts on complex projects/products, and the ability to execute several technical efforts simultaneously.
• Lead the execution and delivery of engineering work products by applying systems engineering processes, methods and tools over an entire project/product lifecycle of hardware and/or software programs. 
• Specific areas of responsibility include stakeholder and mission needs development, concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, alternative analysis, system design and analysis, system integration, validation and verification planning, risk management, and providing systems engineering leadership in technical reviews.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), software developers, network engineers, and test engineers to implement requirements-based systems engineering principals.
• Lead engineers in requirements tracking, system functionality mapping, project schedule, and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) production.
• Troubleshoot systems engineering issues with the workflow management systems including internal configuration management, internal team workflow management, and management information systems operations.
• Develop engineering technical material including but not limited to System Description Documents, Configuration Management Plans, Project Management Plans, System Test Reports, Installation Guides, and Interface Control Documents.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• Bachelors or minimum fourteen (14) years or more of related experience.

 REQUIRED SKILLS: 

• Experience in system design, development, integration and verification testing of military capabilities in a hardware in the loop environment
• Experience leading Systems Engineering aspects of a project team by organizing large projects into measurable work breakdown structured tasks.
• Experience developing system requirements and interface control documents in DOORS or other requirements management tool
• Ability to lead systems engineering aspects of technical reviews such as SFR, SRR, PDR, CDR and TRR
• Experience with writing/communicating verbally complex problem sets to customers
• Experience implementing the systems engineering ‘V’ is a plus.
• Experience with Atlassian workflow management software is a plus.

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:

• Must have or be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance. U.S. citizenship required
