SAIC is seeking a DevOps Engineer to implement Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and Automation efforts for a complex Data Management Platform in support of National Security objectives. 

The DevOps Engineer will be a part of Agile teams responsible for increasing innovation capacity and driving the velocity of development of Data Ingestion and Data Analysis. The DevOps Engineer will synchronize efforts with other tasks in assembling Data Technologies to control the flow of data from source to value, with the goal of speeding up the process of deriving value and insight. 

The ideal candidate will have a passion for unlocking the secrets held by a dataset and champion the collaboration and communication between Security, Development, Test, and IT Operations in order to establish a culture where building, testing, and releasing software happens rapidly and frequently with minimal re-work, focusing on DevOps Process Improvement to drive and utilize metrics to increase efficiency and always keeping security in the forefront of SDLC.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance

• 3+ years experience maintaining and enhancing Infrastructure as Code (IaaS) with technologies including, but not limited to, CloudFormation, Terraform, Puppet, and AWS CodeDeploy 

• 3+ years' experience in Python, Perl, Bash, PHP, and other scripting languages 

• 3+ years' experience maintaining Sponsor’s enterprise operation systems 

• 3+ years' experience using knowledge management and code repositories including but not limited to GitHub, GitLab, Jira, and Confluence 

• Experience writing or refactoring software code to facilitate deploying applications to standalone compute resources and to the Sponsor’s commercial cloud environment 

• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

• Familiarity with the NEXIS platform

• Experience with Apache NiFi

• Experience programming in Apache Spark and PySpark

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering -OR- 20+ years' experience in lieu of degree

• 14+ years of related technical experience (12+ years with Masters, 9+ with PhD)

DESIRED

• Familiarity with managing data in Relational Databases and distributed computing systems in cloud storage 

• Familiarity with ingesting data into SQL and NoSQL database systems
