SAIC is looking for a Senior Engineer to support NASA on the EAST 2 Contract.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the integration of requirements, design, risk mitigation and technology of complex systems.
• Analyze system requirements and assist in design and development activities for complex systems.
• Guide users and team members in formulating requirements, advise on viability of alternative approaches, and conduct and evaluate feasibility studies.
• Seamlessly incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations.
• Provide technical assistance to Program Managers and provide technical recommendations of technologies, techniques or components to assist with meeting project goals and minimizing project risks.
• Provide systems engineering support at all levels of a system's lifecycle.
• Provide systems engineering support necessary to meet requirements for system upgrades, installation of new systems, and system replacements.
• Monitor operational systems daily for collection, issues, output, and dataflow; report problems via ticketing process, recommend updates to operations.
• Work with Operations group to identify and implement necessary system changes, training, updates, etc.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 10+ years experience designing and developing large-scale systems, containing multiple subsystems and requiring integration with external systems
• 10+ years experience focusing on all aspects of acquisition, requirements definition, system design, development, testing, integration, delivery and training.
• Linux background - Red Hat or Cent OS. Package installation and configuration, networking, file management, secure shell and secure file transfer.
• Experience with virtual machines and remote systems management

DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE INCLUDE:

• Scripting is desirable but not required – Puppet, Ansible, Docker, etc.
• Cloud computing, experience with DevOps pipeline deployments; GitLab runners, Kubernetes
• Liferay, GitLab, Atlassian tools knowledge desired
• SAFe understanding and knowledge
• Work independently and as part of a team, highly-motivated self-starter

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
