SAIC is seeking a Training Analyst to support the US Navy in Chesapeake, VA.

Note: This position will be located in the Chesapeake, VA area with approximately 25% travel to various locations (Washington State; Portland, Oregon; Pearl Harbor, HI; Guam, Florida, Maine, and Spain). Travel will be approx. once a month during equipment retrofits; travel will be approx. quarterly during normal operations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The training analyst will train US Navy personnel in the use and administration of the Navy Cash system (a shipboard financial system). Training will cover operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting. Training is provided on board US Navy Ships (primary), as well as in the classroom in various locations.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Candidate will be responsible for updating training curriculum as system changes warrant.
  • Provide Tier 2 (phone/email) and Tier 3 (on site) assistance to end users.
  • Provide support to Navy Disbursing Officers in resolving issues with Navy Cash Disbursing Application and related functions.
  • Develop, review and/or update Navy Cash Standard Operating Procedures, training handouts, training presentations, and other reference materials.
  • Candidate will act as liaison with internal and external organizations in resolving and troubleshooting Navy Cash issues.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

  • Bachelors and three (3) years’ experience; OR Masters and one year experience. Will consider additional years’ experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Candidate must possess a good understanding of Disbursing Policy Manual, Department of Defense Financial Management Regulations (DODFMR) Volume 5.
  • The candidate must possess a good understanding of Ships Store and Vending Operations, Morale, Welfare, and Recreation MWR), Wardroom,  Food Service, Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Mess,  and First Class Petty Officer Association (FCPOA) procedures.
  • Candidate must have a working knowledge of Disbursing Accountability Forms and Disbursing End of Month Procedures
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • At least one year of experience in the use of Navy Cash Disbursing Application 
  • Knowledge of Navy Disbursing Policy, Accountability Procedures, and Financial Reports and Returns
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a Full DoD Secret Security Clearance. Interim Secret clearance required to start. SAIC will sponsor qualified candidates for a security clearance.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Familiarity with Navy Disbursing operations is desirable
  • Familiarity with military protocols and Navy Disbursing operations is desirable
  • Active Secret Security clearance
