SAIC is seeking a Network Engineer Principal to support the Tactical Networks (TACNET) Capabilities Based in Service Engineering Agent (CB-ISEA) in San Diego, CA.

Note: This is a hybrid remote position with periodic onsite visits at our SAIC office in San Diego (approx. once a month). The candidate will need to be local to the San Diego area. The position may also have periodic travel up to 10% to either Norfolk, VA or Seattle, WA for program support as needed (approx. once a year).

JOB DESCRIPTION:

TACNET CB-ISEA supports the sustainment and modernization of tactical networks to include Automated Digital Network System (ADNS), Consolidated Afloat Network and Enterprise Services (CANES), Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System (CENTRIXS), Integration Shipboard Networking System (ISNS), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Networks, and PULSE Reporting Tool. TACNET Sustainment Team seeking a Network Engineer Principal who will assist and lead various efforts and initiatives involving our tactical networks.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Candidate will assist fleet and government customer in high tempo situations to support and resolve issues in a methodical and swift manner to restore critical mission essential services at sea.
  • Candidate will work closely with sustainment engineering team and development team to purpose and engineer solutions to improve, modernize, and sustain afloat networks using an agile methodology in a DevOps environment.
  • Must be willing and interested in learning new toolsets, templates and workflows as business needs evolve. 

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree and nine (9) years of related experience; OR Masters and seven (7) years’ experience. Additional years accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience supporting DoD C4ISR systems in an enterprise level IT environment (ISNS, CANES, ADNS, SCI Network, CENTRIX, ORT) preferred.
  • Experience in a DevOps based environment and is familiar with Agile practices (not WaterFall practices) preferred.
  • Experience with scripting program languages and automation using PowerShell scripting and XML development preferred.
  • Experience in Microsoft stack - .NET4.0/C#, PowerShell.
  • Experience in Linux programming languages.
  • Experience in the design, analysis and support of local area networks
  • Current IAT Level II Compliant (Security +) and OS Cert. Would need to obtain within 6 months if does candidate does not currently hold both certifications.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain a Full DoD Secret Security Clearance.  Interim Secret required to start. SAIC will sponsor qualified candidates for a security clearance.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of US Navy Ship and shore networking systems is a plus.
  • Experience in SCRUM methodologies is a plus.

Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
