SAIC is looking for a Software Engineer Senior to provide support in San Diego, CA.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The StratCap program involves deployment of autonomous unmanned surface vessels (USV’s) to demonstrate an enhanced warfighting capability to disrupt adversary activity in a given maritime region. The program seeks to develop an unmanned, remotely operated, and semi-autonomous USV capable of carrying modular payloads into a contested environment in order to reduce warfighter risk and provide tactical advantage.

The StratCap program is managed by the Unmanned Maritime Systems (UMS) Program Office (PMS-406) within PEO Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), and is supported by NIWC Pacific, Code 564 who provides expertise to the program sponsor in the areas of hardware and software design, development, installation, test and evaluation of various unmanned and autonomous systems.

JOB DUTIES:

• The candidate shall perform software engineering design and development activities to produce reliable, modular, and secure software components for use on the StratCap project.
• Software engineering activities include the specification, design, development, and review of software modules that function as part of C4ISR systems.
• The candidate shall be fully knowledgeable of and participate in agile software development process with the Government to define and implement software modules in computer programming languages including Angular, TypeScript, React, Vue, JavaScript, Cesium, Python, C/C++, HTML/CSS, Angular framework, Database, and DDS.
• The candidate shall capture requirements (for example via generation of user stories), analyze requirements, document requirements, discuss requirements, and build to requirements as part of an agile software development team. The candidate shall place software development artifacts into configuration management using industry standard commercial software such as CM Pro and Git.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

• Bachelor and five (5) years’ experience, Masters and three (3) years’ experience. Preferred degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with a focus on command and control systems.
• Experience in software engineering and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
• Experience in agile software development process.
• Experience developing controls systems for unmanned surface vehicle.
• Professional software development experience in programming language, framework, and middleware including but not limited to Typescript, React, Python, C++, Cesium, Angular framework, HTML/CSS, RTI DDS, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Software configuration tracking using GitLab
• Experience with UCSMDE and UMAA topics as related to RTI DDS
• Candidate must be a US Citizen.
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
