SAIC’s National Intelligence Community (NIC) Business Unit, USG Mission and Information Technology Division, provides solutions and services supporting digital modernization programs in areas such as systems engineering, multi-cloud computing, cybersecurity, data science and analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, quantum computing, application development, SecDevOps, cloud network operations, and secure communications.

We are seeking highly motivated Database Managers to join our team and leverage their technical expertise to design, develop, test and deliver database systems.  As the Database Manager, you will be responsible for migrating data from legacy systems to modern systems and designing and managing backup and recovery processes, and continuity of operations plans.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

• Enhancing the scalability and performance of existing database architecture
• Developing database structures and features according to organizational needs
• Protecting data by developing data security and restoration policies, procedures, and controls
• Conducting diagnostic tests and evaluating performance metrics
• Developing procedures to ensure data integrity and quality
• Preparing and presenting system performance reports to senior managers
• Performing database maintenance, migration, and upgrading hardware and software
• Documenting processes and complying with best practices in database management
• Staying abreast with developments and trends in database management

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in database development, administration, or maintenance; systems administration; application administration; and/or information technology support or management
• Advanced proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL)
• Knowledge of best practices in database management
• Advanced analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and attention to detail skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
