SAIC has an opportunity for a Ground Hardware Systems Engineer to work on an exciting, fast-paced program. Become a member of a cutting edge research and development team defining next generation architectures and capabilities.  This position provides subject matter expertise to customer’s R&D ground hardware system design, architecture development, ground hardware integration/deployment, and system integration. This position will provide technical assessments to system design and integration challenges and recommend mitigation approaches, to include: hardware solutions, software solutions, and modification of architectural design. In addition, this position will provide support to cutting edge SmallSat Ground research and development.  The successful applicant will work to provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex and technically challenging work.

SETA Skills:

o Build relationships between key stakeholders such as vendors, ground hardware infrastructure providers, and the customer

o Strong analytical and collaboration skills

• Review system architectures, analyze requirements and system design, propose verification methodologies, and help integrate complex ground hardware systems
• Review ground hardware contractor’s documents and procedures, requirements, verification methodologies,  Concept of Operations (CONOPS), Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and test plans to ensure program success
• Provide support to acquisitions, source selection and programmatic processes
• Provide technical evaluation of proposals submitted by contractors
• Update Statements of Work (SOW) to support any Engineering Change Proposal (ECP)
• Coordinate and facilitate technical exchange meetings between various organizations
• Monitor system testing to ensure system requirements are properly addressed

Qualifications

- Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience 

- Active TS/SCI clearance with poly

- Experience with acquisition SETA support

- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic environment

- Experience with software integration to include ground hardware components

- Experience in operational readiness, rehearsals, and system testing

- Experience across multiple engineering disciplines to include: systems engineering, ground hardware, and integration and test
