Description
SAIC seeks a Transformational R&D Systems Engineer to join our team of professionals providing technical and program services to the U.S. Government (USG). SAIC provides research, engineering, design, analysis, acquisition, development, integration, test, and operations support USG Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. We support development and delivery of next generation and generation after next national security systems based on land, at sea, in air, and in space.
The engineer sought here serves a USG Program Office leading Research & Development (R&D) of evolutionary, revolutionary, and transformational space systems and technology. This position provides Systems Engineering & Technical Advisory (SETA) support services with a focus on advanced study generation, analysis strategy and coordination. Implementation of roadmap recommendations to enable the coordination and prioritization of concept to the government customer.
Your responsibilities include some or all of the following depending on your personal desires and capabilities:
Provide technical review and assessment of concepts, systems, technologies, designs, architectures, interfaces, and operation of space and ground systems.
Support all aspects of contract competition to include; developing cost estimates, evaluating proposals against source selection criteria, supporting/researching follow on questions, supporting COTR on all documentation needed for contract award.
Monitoring contractor performance from a technical, cost and management perspective and addressing any potential roadblocks.
Support contract actions such as engineering change proposals (ECPs), ASC packages and any other documentation needed to support sole source justification.
Analyze of alternatives to optimize technical, cost, and schedule performance and improve knowledge and understanding of system, technology, and architecture tradeoffs.
Provide technical and programmatic support through the entire project life cycle including concept development, system definition, acquisition planning, source selection, system design, development, integration and test, system delivery, and mission operations.
Deliver mission operations support includes planning, execution, monitor and control, and anomaly support plus evaluation, conclusions, recommendations, and capture of lessons learned.
Brief and report technical and programmatic assessments presenting analysis, results, conclusions, and recommendations. Brief USG staff and industry partners, as requested.
Active member of enterprise R&D, learning, and innovation environment creating, gathering, and sharing knowledge to grow organizational competency and capability.
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly
- At least 3 years acquisition experience on NRO contracts performing the following tasks; writing contract requirements, ASC packages, statements of work, JAA, market surveys, and CDRLs .
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Interpersonal and communication skills for written reports, group discussion, and oral presentations
