Description

The Lead Data Architect will support the following activities: plan, design, implement, maintain, optimize, and modernize new data architecture for hybrid multi cloud environment. Strong database developer with expertise working with AWS and other Clouds transitions/migrations. The main function to include database design, back-end engineering, architecture of Data for Hybrid Multi-Cloud environment, utilizing database in AWS, other CSPs, and 3rd parties.

The candidate should demonstrate expertise in understanding large, complex, and possibly undocumented or unrelated databases, data schema, reference data, joining conditions, relationships, to respond to data requests. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Executing data strategy, approach, design, development and implementation
  • Architecting a Hybrid Multi cloud Data platform 
  • Experience utilizing AWS and Azure cloud native offerings 
  • Integrating 3rd party data offerings to a hybrid multi cloud environment 
  • Conducting gap analysis of tools, common services and business processes
  • \Developing and execute target state diagrams
  • Providing enterprise data integration architecture guidance
  • Cloud database administration with proficiency in emerging and cloud-native relational and non-relational, multi-master solutions including creating and configuring cloud compute, storage, and other cloud services (IE: MongoDB, AWS Relational Database Service (RDS), AWS, Aurora, etc.)
  • Troubleshooting Database issues like Performance issues and Resource issues
  • Documentation for the design, implementation, operations, and accreditation of COTS infrastructure management, as well as adherence to internal team standards and processes
  • Supporting production database workloads in Postgres, Oracle, MS SQL, and/or MySQL

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience or additional experience in lieu of degree
  • Ability to obtain public trust
  • 7 years of experience (minimum) successfully performing in a role with major responsibility tied to large data intensive projects with tight deadlines. 
  • 7 years professional experience (minimum) as a Data Architect/ Data Engineer / Database Manager
  • 3 years of experience (minimum) with designing solutions using big data tools and technologies  
  • A demonstrated history of the execution of large-scale data migration and data analytics projects
  • Experience with Data integration, Data curation, datacenter architectures, or web services
  • Experience with sizing/scaling distributed computing clusters, deployment models (cloud-based / on premise), operations, management, and security
  • Experience developing and maintaining project plans including schedules, project requirements, budgets and delivery
  • Proven leadership traits to include sound business judgment, keen conceptual skills, intellectual discipline, self-confidence, well-developed management and problem resolution skills 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) process, data management techniques, Data Lake, data analysis, design of complex queries, and data visualization activities are a must.
  • Understanding of Big Data platforms, Data pipeline, DataOps and DevSecOps
  • Knowledge of typical data governance issues, strategies, and policies
  • Experience in data modeling and database design, knowledge across all phases of data modeling, from conceptualization to database optimization. Experience in SQL development and database administration specifically in the Oracle 9i and other databases
  • Experience with leading and manage a team
  • Experience with ATO and supporting POaM
  • Experience in migrating very large multi-terabyte databases to AWS Cloud and other cloud providers
  • Experience with migration to the cloud and with automation and infrastructure as code (CloudWatch/Terraform)
  • Experience with system integration and automation and operating/managing AWS infrastructure as code or Azure
  • Relevant Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification (desired)
  • AWS or Azure Certification
  • Database certification
