Description

This position will support the Government customer in an NRO Systems Program Office (SPO) with the development of a new satellite system.  It will require a senior Systems Engineer fluent in the DoD acquisition/systems engineering processes as well as experience with the NRO acquisition/systems engineering processes in order to assist the customer with the successful completion Milestone A & B.  This position will support the early phases of the lifecycle starting with CONOPS and requirements development and then transition to the design phase. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the GPOC managing the development of a CONOPS with all stakeholders.
  • Assist the GPOC managing the requirements development
  • Draft and review government acquisition documentation (SOWs, RFPs, J&As)
  • Assist GPOC preparing required artifacts for Milestone A & B
  • Assist the GPOC preparing RFPs and evaluating subsequent proposals
  • Assist the GPOC managing and evaluating contractor PDRs and CDRs
  • Attend enterprise system, subsystem and segment level design reviews and program management reviews to assess design maturity, requirements compliance and to provide informed technical recommendations to the GPOC
  • Proactively identify and assess emerging technical and programmatic risks at the enterprise, system, subsystem level and then work with the Government enterprise Prime/Subcontractor to develop and evaluate mitigation approaches
  • Develop productive relationships with Prime/Subcontractor counterparts, functional counterparts, and other subject matter experts

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Fluent in DoD acquisition/systems engineering processes
  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
  • Master’s Degree and 9 years of experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in a government team environment
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
