SAIC is looking for an Engineering Technician IV to support the U.S. Navy in Bedford, INThis position will require someone with mechanical aptitude and a basic understanding of electrical connectivity, with the ability to follow written instruction and schematic layout. The responsibilities of this position need someone with familiarity with Military Communication Platforms, such as communication vehicles, shelters, radio stations, or data platforms, as well as the technical ability for platform assembly, testing, training, fielding, and systems upgrades as required through modification instructions or manuals

Job duties may include, but are not limited to: kitting parts and cable assemblies per written instruction, integration of parts, cables, assemblies, and sensitive equipment, travel, interaction with other facets of project development and support, such as: Leads, Government Customer, Procurement, Drafting support, Engineering support, Inventory support.  This person would be able to quickly complete tasking independently and as a team member, with detailed or general instruction. Candidate must be detailed oriented and have the ability to read and comprehend written work cards, drawings, and verbal instruction.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years of related experience or Associate's Degree and 6 years of experience.
  • Employment can be started while awaiting clearance approval.  Possession of an existing clearance is a benefit.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must have Network+ and Security+ certifications prior to start
  • Must have ability to comprehend and follow written instruction for performing part and assembly integration for completion of full functioning systems.  Candidate will be performing job duties on-site and at military installations and will be working independently and in a team environment dependent on daily objectives.
  • Utilization of Configuration Management and ability to follow DoD Standard Operating Procedures with use of DoD Share Point and file servers for data management.
  • Able to travel 25% of time to Marine Corps locations CONUS and OCONUS.

DESIRED

  • Military Occupation Specialties of interest but not required: Marine Corps 5939, 5974, 5979: Navy Operation Specialist (OS) with experiences as Aircraft Intercept Controller (AIC) and/ or Anti-Submarine Tactical Aircraft Controller (ASTAC) // Communication Electronics Technician (ET) Information Technician (IT) for the maintenance side.
