Description

SAIC is seeking a top-notch Environmental, Energy, and Safety Support Specialist to join our team in Chantilly, VA. This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

In this role, you will perform the following responsibilities:

  • Serve as the government technical resource in one of the Office's Main Program Areas (MPAs) of Environmental Compliance, Energy and Sustainability, or Occupational Safety.
  • Perform Occupational Health and Safety audits throughout the enterprise. Identify potential corrective measures, present finding and solutions, and track corrections to resolution.
  • Prepare administrative and regulatory reporting for all of the Office's MPAs including OSHA injury and illness reporting and environmental data collection and reporting.
  • Prepare/update/manage office communications and events to include Environmental Safety Committee meetings, office website, newsletters and other communications, and Environmental Safety conferences.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures, processes, written guidance, and corporate governance documents and periodically validate and improve those items.
  • Represent the government in internal and intra-government meetings and events as directed.  Represent the enterprise to the safety offices of the individual field locations, providing support, collaboration, and communication

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Poly is required
  • Bachelors and three (3) years’ experience in either Environmental Compliance, Energy and Sustainability or Occupational Safety. Ten (10) years or more of related experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Industrial Safety, Safety Engineering, Safety Management, or a closely related field 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Certification in safety or environmental fields such as CSP, CIH, CEA, or CESM or other certification in Energy Management, Environmental Protection or Compliance, Occupational Safety Industrial Hygiene or related areas.
  • Experience with DoD Energy Management, Environmental Compliance, or Occupational Safety programs
  • Ability to advise senior officials within and outside the enterprise concerning occupational safety and health and serve on external working groups.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and ability to work with Occupational Health and Safety software tools.
