SAIC is currently seeking a mid-level Construction Cost Estimator to support our intelligence community client. In this role, you serve as the primary Cost Estimator in development of construction cost estimates with varying levels of expected accuracy throughout project planning, programming, design, and pre-construction activities for government clients to determine feasibility, alternative analysis, and budget decisions. Interested candidates should have a thorough understanding of construction means and methods and should be able to successfully develop construction cost estimates for diverse locations and construction types.

This role is located in Chantilly, VA and requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph. 

SAIC provides full service facility management support to a major organization in the Intelligence community. We conduct end-to-end project management and facility engineering functions for locations throughout the world.  At the HQ-level we perform all manner of planning, programming and execution oversight for a portfolio in the hundreds of millions per year.  

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Independent cost estimate preparation
• Cost estimate reviews/validations
• Value engineering cost support
• Facility programming cost support
• Cost analysis, economic analysis; life cycle costs and contingency/risk analysis.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
• Bachelor’s degree and three years experience with two (2) years of cost estimating experience in the IC or DoD or 2 years of cost estimating experience in Commercial Industry in the last 5 years.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Proficiency in preparing scopes of work, cost estimates, proposals, and presentations.
• Knowledge of or familiarity with estimating standard construction as well as security features related to physical security.

Desired Qualifications

• Cost estimating or construction management related certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project.
• Cost Engineering certification and experience using MCACES (MII), PACES, Success, Primavera, Crystal Ball and other cost engineering applications are a plus.
• CCP or CEP certification or ability to achieve within six months
