Description
SAIC seeks a senior level Systems Engineer to provide technical advisory support to the US Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC). SSC develops and acquires Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) system to support Military and Intelligence users. Spacecraft systems engineering and systems development/test/integration experience is required. Knowledge of a major US government satellite program is desired. The successful candidate will be multi-disciplined Systems Integration and Test (SEIT) engineering professional that will monitor and evaluate the prime contractor and its subcontractors on the execution of their contract. The candidate will monitor and evaluate the execution of the systems engineering processes the USAF Space Force OPIR development, production, sustainment, and future programs to ensure compliance with the technical requirements on contract and all the mission assurance practices.
The candidate will review and evaluate new contract solicitations and monitor program technical execution against the past performance, Integrated Master Plan, Integrated Master Schedule, Systems Engineering Plan, and evaluate CDRLs for compliance with applicable Space Force/Air Force Space Command, Headquarters, and DoD policies, guidance, and strategy, technical approach and requirements, acquisition policy and guidance, milestones, forecasts, and risk assessment.
The candidate will support an assigned Space Force customer in all aspects of their technical and managerial duties and help deliver a qualified space system to meet the needs of national security and the warfighter.
Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor’s and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD and four (4) years or more experience.
The following experience is required:
- Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance
- Spacecraft and Ground Systems Engineering experience
- Spacecraft and/or Ground requirements and interfaces
- Ability to work on a virtual team
- Ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms
- Ability to self-direct with conflicting priorities
- Ability to work well with a different levels of management from interns, senior scientists, directors, Gov’t personnel and contractors
Desired experience
- Familiar with Air Force/mil standard specs and libraries
- Spacecraft conops experience
- Cyber experience
