Description

SAIC is seeking a full-time Policy Analyst to provide support to an exciting program at Ft. Belvoir. 

The salary range for this position is $60-70k. 

  • Current focus areas include strategic-level planning with a global focus in support of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s (DTRA) countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) mission. 
  • The position will also focus on the Agency’s supporting plans and strategy development and support Joint Staff requests for crisis action Counter WMD/Emerging Threat planning requests.
  • Employee will be required to research, organize, analyze, and summarize data; conduct literature searches; develop preliminary findings, conclusions, and recommendations; and draft written reports and summaries for Department of Defense policy, strategies and plans. 
  • Develop white papers, point papers, and briefings, as required.  Interact with experienced technical staff, management, and government clients.
  • Assist in the preparation, presentation, and follow-up of briefings. 
  • Work will be conducted on the government site at FT Belvoir, VA. 
  • Employee may be required to travel domestically and overseas, as directed by the client. Total time spent on travel not expected to exceed 10%.

 

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

Required Education:  BA/BS degree in a related field and 3 years of related experience . Masters and one year of related experience.

Security Clearance:  SECRET clearance is required.  All applicants must be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.

Required Skills:

  • Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient research and analytical skills
  • Experience in MS Office Suite

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to work in a dynamic work environment with a diverse client base
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to problem-solve in a time constrained environment
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently as appropriate
  • Ability to prioritize tasks through strong organizational skills
  • Military experience, or experience with contracting or the federal government a plus
  • Master’s Degree in a related field
  • Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
