SAIC is seeking a part time, as needed, remote with travel Training Analyst II to support the US Navy in San Diego, CA.

Note: This is a part time casual/on call position. Candidates do not have to relocate for this position. It is a flexwork opportunity with approximately 25% travel. Travel is a large part of the job as this position may require travel to any of the US 56 states and territories. Additional skills required are good technical writing skills and some public speaking experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Training Analyst II will help the Training Analyst Manager and Operations team plan and evaluate virtual, tabletop, functional and full scale public safety/communications-based exercises in various parts of the US.

JOB DUTIES:

• Work with the Training Analyst Manager and Operations team on exercise planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Assist public safety stakeholders with communications SOG/SOP plan development, including tactical interoperable communications plans, field operations guides, COOP and migration plans
• Assist public safety stakeholders with technical guidance on industry standard best practices/usage
• Research, analyze, and make recommendations about new technologies, applications, and other communications developments that will contribute to the team’s skills set

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

• Bachelors with 15 or more years of relevant work experience in the public safety communications, training, and exercise realms.  Additional experience will be accepted in lieu of degree
• Knowledge and experience using public safety communications systems (voice, data, and video) in a practical or training application
• Public Safety or DoD communication experience
• Teaching experience with preference to being a credentialed COML, COMT, INCM or INTD
• Candidate must be a US Citizen.
• Ability to obtain a Full DoD Secret security clearance.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge of the principles, types, and uses of public safety radio systems
• Knowledge of the use and application of public safety broadband technologies and devices
• Knowledge and understanding of the cellular and landline uses for public safety agencies
• Knowledge and experience using video teleconferencing applications
• Knowledge of state and federal two-way radio regulations
• Knowledge of HSEEP exercise development and evaluation
• Knowledge of SOG/SOP plan development and analysis
• Knowledge of public safety standard response practices and how communications plays a role.
