SAIC is seeking a self-motivated Computer Research Scientist to join a multifaceted and rewarding program with a government customer. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in conducting Computer Science Research with a passion for turning research ideas into running prototype-grade systems. The work will be performed in the Dulles and Tysons areas.

Responsibilities Include:

• Designing and optimizing algorithms, data structures, modeling, and analytics to solve real-world scientific problems
• Using principles, techniques, procedures, and tools to architect and facilitate the development of hardware solutions
• Developing methods and applications for tools to analyze computer systems and network vulnerabilities

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in the application of physical theory (electric and magnetic field propagation into materials) to the design, development, modeling, simulation, and testing of high tech
• Demonstrated high quality academic or industrial research as evidenced by publications, involvement in the research community and/or patent applications
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph
• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Physics or a related field

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience deploying bare metal workloads on silicon boards for the purpose of performance measurement and board tuning
• Knowledge of basic networking, database, and storage of system administration concepts
