SAIC is seeking a dynamic, experienced Vice President to lead the Ground Systems & Combat Support Account within the company’s Army Business Unit responsible for the vision, strategy, growth, execution, and talent management of the account.  

This is a hybrid remote opportunity supporting teams in Sterling Heights/Detroit Arsenal, Michigan. 

This leader will exercise sound judgment within broadly defined corporate guidelines and policies and drive efforts to realize annual business plan financials and drive growth aligned with broader organization strategic plans. The successful individual will initiate and participate in business strategy development, guide business development and capture activities, maintain financial controls for the organization, and create an environment conducive to long term sustainable growth. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Cultivating and managing effective relationships with senior clients and potential future clients
  • Providing positive, effectual leadership and management oversight of subordinate Program Directors and direct reporting Program Managers
  • Identifying strategic business thrusts for the account; planning, executing, and supervising business development strategies and actions to enable those thrusts
  • Developing business and financial plans and leading the account to achieve the objectives of those plans
  • Meeting cost, schedule and performance objectives to drive top-line and bottom-line growth
  • Maintaining financial controls and ensuring the integrity of financial matters
  • Supporting and at times, guiding or leading subordinate Directors and Program Managers in efforts where the scope and complexity necessitates
  • Coordinating efforts with supporting business enablement functions including contracts, subcontracts, procurement, project control, finance, accounting, and human resources
  • Creating and maintaining a collaborative environment conducive to the professional growth and development of staff and the free flow of information throughout the entire organization

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree and 18+ years of relevant experience with 5+ years in an executive leadership role.

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

  • Demonstrated success leading, managing and providing oversight of a portfolio of executing programs and growth initiatives
  • Domain knowledge of ground combat, tactical vehicle systems and weapon systems
  • Experience with the Defense Acquisition System
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering practices, the application of modeling and simulation in support of all phases of the materiel acquisition, and modern software development practices
  • Demonstrated success developing a major acquisition from qualification to proposal submission
  • Significant and relevant customer relationships
  • Strong working knowledge of DoD and Army specific contracting practices
  • Demonstrated success as a Program Manager in government or industry
  • Working knowledge of functional topics including contracts, finance, and human resources

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:

  • Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret 

 DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Advanced degree 

Target salary range: $215,001 - $225,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
