This position directly supports the USCYBERCOM Joint Operations Center (JOC) and is a member of the JOC Fires Support Cell.  The Assessments & Analysis Analyst provides the central point of collaboration for cyberspace operations and activities, with an emphasis on the initial assessment of the operational impact of on-going actions, policy implementation, and shared situational awareness products.  This is accomplished through the use of tools to review mission reporting, and by communicating with the Cyber Mission Force (CMF) regarding operations status.  The Assessments & Analysis team assists in determining the initial impact of mission deviation to the appropriate stakeholders, including the J3 Director of Operations.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
  • Provide initial impact assessment of cyberspace operations;
  • Review all mission reports in IKE highlighting non-standard events for follow-on assessment;
  • Notify appropriate stakeholders of non-standard events, potential effects on operations, and associated risk to mission;
  • Conduct trend analysis of cyberspace operations;
  • Collaborate with internal and external organizations as required (i.e. J343 Assessments branch, J38 Mission Management Team, component headquarters, CMF teams, etc.) to address operational reporting gaps, trends, and conduct analysis;
  • Develop independent risk assessments with available data independent of external risk assessments;
  • Conduct operations research analysis support for cyberspace operations as required;
  • Analyze cyberspace operations data to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision-making;
  • Interpret policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and objectives and applies operations research principles and techniques to analytic needs
  • Prepares detailed assessment reports that represent data as useful information and ensure the analysis presents meaningful results
  • Participate in the Assessments Working Group and Operations Reporting Working Group as the JOC representative;
  • Update deliverables and products as required.
 
Deliverables include (as required):
  • Weekly A&A deep dive product evaluating trends;
  • Briefing slides for the Commander’s Weekly Update (as requested);
  • J3 Morning Update Brief (virtual dial-in via Skype);
  • Data collection, assembly, and analysis products.

 

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as an Operations Research Analyst
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Operations Research, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
