Description
The SAIC Proposal Development Center (PDC) has an opportunity for a proposal writer with demonstrated experience producing original, compliant proposal content, who is driven to grow and highly motivated to excel in this field. In this role, you are part of a collaborative team, working with other writers/book bosses, solution architects, program experts, and capture teams to develop original content for federal RFx. You will apply journalistic skills to interview program personnel candidates and corporate experience POCs. SAIC PDC proposal writers work across technical, management, past performance, and resume sections of proposals, building strong relationships, and supporting diverse customer needs.

Responsibilities:
Qualifications
BA or BS degree or higher (or equivalent) in Journalism, English, Business, Information Technology, or Communication Arts, or other relevant fields
6+ years of related Federal proposal writing experience in support of technical and management narrative, resumes, and past performances in a government contracting environment for multi-teammate, solutions-based proposals ranging in value from $100M to $1B+
Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
Proven ability to work with/interview subject matter experts to effectively incorporate complex technical and management approaches into proposal content
Must have strong working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense FAR (DFAR), DCAA, etc.) and the ability to read and interpret Government Synopsis, RFx/Solicitations
Must have in-depth understanding of compliance with all sections of governmental RFx, experience analyzing RFx, developing annotated outlines, creating compliance matrices and content plans
Excellent people skills, and demonstrated experience working with teams of varying sizes, technical abilities, and levels of authority with both internal corporate staff and teammates
Must be flexible and open to changing schedules and priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously within compressed time frames, and while meeting deadlines
Requires strong planning, organization, and communication skills
Must be a team player, self-starter, and able to work with minimal direction to meet deadlines
Must be available for overtime, evening, and weekend work occasionally when necessary to support proposal, review, and delivery timelines
Must have advanced knowledge in MS Word and Excel, and working knowledge of PowerPoint and collaboration tools, such as Zoom, Teams, and SharePoint
Must be able to commute or travel for onsite workshops and cleared spaces as required
Desired
Experience with FEDSIM and self-scoring procurement models
Knowledge of infrastructure modernization, logistics, operations and sustainment, applications/software development and sustainment, and agile methodologies for both defense and civilian sectors of the federal government helpful
Ability to conceptualize complex graphics to communicate management and technical information in a concise manner
