Description
SAIC has an opening for a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) Training Systems Acquisition and Lifecycle Support team out of Dahlgren, VA.
The applicant shall provide acquisition and lifecycle support through identification of training shortfalls and mitigation through new training system development and/or existing training system modification; training system requirements analysis and development based on Navy training needs, including keeping pace with new capability and/or technology; training system development (new system) or modification (existing system), including prototype development, hardware/software implementation, requirements testing, curriculum development assistance, training system fielding at learning sites and/or virtually, training system piloting, and Train-the-Trainer (TTT) support; maintenance and modernization of existing training systems to reflect capability and technology upgrades; and retirement of obsolete training systems upon fielding replacements.
The applicant shall provide assistance to SCSTC Training Systems Acquisition and Lifecycle Support personnel and the SCSTC Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) Lead in support of RRL tasks and initiatives, especially as they affect training system development efforts. A strong MS PowerPoint background is required to generate technical briefing packages for SCSTC and parent commands, including the resource sponsor.
The applicant shall provide assistance to the SCSTC Surface and Expeditionary Warfare Training Committee (SEWTC) Lead with generating the yearly Program Objective Memorandum (POM) by assessing the current training capability against new/revised training requirements and provide recommended courses of action to resolve or mitigate indentifed gaps, especially where they affect current and future RRL efforts. A strong MS Excel background is required to generate and update SEWTC/POM spreadsheets used to track issues and requests across multiple POM cycles and training commands.
The applicant shall provide technical evaluation support of Training Systems requirements and lifecycle management support for SCSTC. The work will include requirements analysis, business case analysis, system specification and Training Requirements Document (TRD) development, test planning and conduct for new and updated training systems, objective watch stander performance standards and training paths leading to system and team certifications, and retirement/sun downing activities related to training system obsolescence.
